A finalized statement is read-only. Keep the original closing output available so the engagement history remains understandable.

Create a correction draft

  1. Open the client’s Year-End Close form list.
  2. Identify the finalized statement by client, period, and label.
  3. Download its compliance pack if you need a reference copy.
  4. Choose Clone to create a separate editable draft and give it an unambiguous label.
  5. Correct the underlying inputs, mappings, checks, or report in that draft.

Cloning does not reverse bookings already posted to the accounting system. See Approve and post bookings.

Review and finalize the replacement work

Reconcile the corrected figures, document the reason for the change, review affected checks and disclosures, regenerate the report, and inspect a new draft pack before finalizing. The original finalized statement and its pack remain separate.

Make clear to the engagement team which version is approved for delivery. Do not assume cloning automatically replaces the original in every downstream workflow.

Check the next rollover source

Rollover selects a compatible finalized close ending before the new period, preferring the latest reporting date and then the most recently updated close. A draft clone is not eligible simply because it is newer.

Check the source shown when creating the next period, particularly after a correction or when several finalized versions exist. See Use a prior-year rollover.
