A prior-year rollover can reduce repeat setup by using compatible information from the latest finalized financial statement. It is available only when the rollover feature is enabled for your organization.

When rollover is available

While creating a financial statement, Didyma looks for a compatible finalized statement ending before the new period. When one is found, the creation dialog shows the rollover option and identifies the source fiscal year.

The source must belong to the same client and compatible closing period. Didyma prefers the latest reporting date before the new start date, then the most recently updated close. This can be older than the immediately preceding fiscal year. Check gaps and comparative-period alignment. If no compatible finalized source exists, the option is disabled; create the new statement without rollover or finalize the appropriate source after review.

Create the rolled-over statement

  1. Open the client’s Year-End Close area.
  2. Select New Close.
  3. Confirm the new Financial year, Reporting date, and Start date.
  4. Enable the prior-year rollover option.
  5. Check the displayed source period.
  6. Create the form.

Review everything that carries forward

Rollover uses prior-close data and mappings as a starting point. Review the new form for:

  • changes to the chart of accounts or account mappings;
  • new, closed, or renumbered accounts;
  • current and comparative period alignment;
  • changed disclosures, accounting policies, and presentation;
  • checklist items and evidence that must be performed again for the new period.

Do not assume a rolled-forward value, mapping, conclusion, or document remains appropriate. The new period requires its own reconciliation, review, and evidence.

If the prior year needs changes

A finalized statement is read-only. Use Clone from the form list to create a separate editable copy when needed; the finalized original stays unchanged. A clone is not automatically a replacement rollover source, so verify the source shown when creating the next statement.
