Financial statements
Create a financial statement
Start a Year-End Close form with the correct financial year, reporting period, and optional rollover.

A financial statement belongs to a client and reporting period. Create the client first, then collect the available documents and accounting data before starting the form.
Create the form
- Open the client.
- Go to Year-End Close.
- Select New Close.
- Choose the Financial year. The previous calendar year is selected by default, or the current year if the company was formed this year. Only years from the company’s formation year through the current year are shown. Select Other to open the year picker; choosing a year outside the suggestions shows only that year.
- Enter a Label and review the Reporting date and Start date. All fields are visible immediately.
- Review any available prior-year rollover option, then create the form.
Selecting a year sets the reporting date to 31 December and the start date to 1 January of that year, or the company formation date if later. Changing the reporting date resets the start date to one year earlier plus one day, or the formation date if later. For example, a reporting date of 30 June 2026 defaults to a start date of 1 July 2025. You can also edit the start date directly for a long or short fiscal year.
The start date cannot precede the company formation date. The reporting date must be after the start date and at least one day after formation. If a selected year predates formation, the dates are bounded to the formation date and the following day; choose the correct financial year before creating the form.
If the formation date is missing, select The company formation date is missing. to search Zefix or enter it manually. Choosing a Zefix company saves all available Zefix details to client info. A small checkmark confirms when the start date matches the formation date.
Confirm these dates against the client’s statutory reporting period. This is especially important for a first period, a changed year end, a merger, or a liquidation period.
Prior-year rollover
When rollover is enabled, the dialog shows the option and selects it by default when a compatible finalized source is available. Otherwise it is disabled. Didyma selects the latest compatible finalized close ending before the new period; check the displayed source, especially if there is a gap or multiple versions.
A rollover can bring prior-close data and mappings into the new form, but it does not replace the current-year close. Check every rolled-forward value and mapping against the new period. Read Use a prior-year rollover before selecting it.
After creation
Didyma opens the new form at the start of the statement workflow. Continue with Import financial data, then work through the statement steps.
If the form has already been finalized, it is read-only. Use Clone from the form list when you need a separate editable version; the finalized original remains unchanged.
