Map spreadsheet columns
Import worksheets with explicit account, amount, statement-type, and comparative-year assignments.

Use the file-import flow for spreadsheet exports from your accounting system. Keep an unchanged source copy and verify the client, currency, and reporting dates first.
Select files and worksheets
- Open Import, choose the appropriate File import source, and select the balance-sheet and income-statement files.
- When Map spreadsheet columns opens, select a worksheet and its Header row. Choose No header row when appropriate.
- Choose Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Balance Sheet + Income Statement, or Skip for each worksheet.
- Review every worksheet before selecting Import. The preview shows only part of the file; processing includes all rows.
The overall extraction accepts at most six documents. Source-specific slots can have smaller limits. For exact exports, see Import financial data.
Assign fields and years
Select a field on the right, then click its column. Account number and Account name are required; assign at least one year’s amount. Currency, account group, and debit/credit indicator are optional. The previous-year amount may remain unassigned when unavailable.
| Example column | Assign to |
|---|---|
| Account: 1020 | Account number |
| Name: Bank CHF | Account name |
| Balance 2025: 12,500 | Amount 2025 |
| Balance 2024: 10,000 | Amount 2024 |
| Currency: CHF | Currency |
Use the actual years shown in your form. Do not map a debit/credit indicator as an amount, and do not fill absent comparative figures with zero just to complete the import. Reuse mappings only for sheets with identical column names, then check the year assignments on every sheet.
Check statement types and account numbers
Balance-sheet sheets import accounts beginning with 1–2; income-statement sheets import 3–9; combined sheets import 1–9. A wrong statement type or a different numbering scheme can omit accounts. Check the resulting account population against the source before proceeding.
For each year, a separate statement takes precedence over the corresponding part of a combined statement. Avoid overlapping exports unless that precedence is intended.
Validate and recover
Review AI suggestions as suggestions. If suggestions cannot load, recognized headers may still be filled and you can complete the mapping manually. If no accounts are extracted, check the worksheet, header row, statement type, account numbers, and amount columns.
Reconcile balance-sheet totals and profit/loss for each available period. For a corrected import, preserve the source and review the resulting accounts, mapping, checklist results, and report again; do not assume downstream work remains current. See Map and review accounts.
