Account mapping controls where source balances appear in the financial statement. It does not change the source ledger or establish that the accounting records are complete.

Review the imported population

Check the client, period, currency, account count, balance-sheet totals, and profit/loss against the source reports. When Verification is enabled, use it to inspect the extraction. Otherwise perform these checks in the available import and review views.

Duplicate account numbers block progression. Investigate whether the export contains repeated headers, subtotal rows, overlapping sheets, or genuinely different accounts. Correct the source or import assignments rather than deleting a row merely to remove the warning.

Map accounts

Open CoA Mapping, review the suggested Swiss SME positions, and resolve unmapped or ambiguous accounts. Search by account number or name and check the destination’s meaning. For example, map an operating bank account to the appropriate bank position, then investigate an unexpected credit balance before accepting the presentation.

Review new, closed, and renumbered accounts after each import or rollover. A familiar number is not enough to establish the correct classification. Do not change a sign just to make the balance sheet balance.

Record the review

Open Review to compare current and prior amounts, assess material movements and classifications, and record comments and review status. Include what you checked and which evidence explains a movement, rather than only writing “OK”. Review group-level comments as well as account-level items.

Use the Balance sheet and P/L sidebars to inspect figures alongside a check. Missing transaction detail may require a journal import before you can investigate the movement.

After corrections

A mapping correction changes presentation; a booking changes accounting amounts. Use the appropriate operation and recheck the affected totals. Review unresolved checks, refresh the report, and inspect the compliance-pack draft after substantive corrections. See Approve and post bookings.
